Tips for a Perfect Laser Engraving Fantasy Map
To ensure your fantasy map looks amazing when laser engraved, here are a few tips to keep in mind when submitting your design:
File Type: Vector files (like SVG, AI, or PDF) are preferred, as they give the cleanest results. High-resolution raster files (at least 300 DPI) work too, but vector designs allow for more precision.
Black and White Design: For best results, ensure your map is designed in black and white. The laser engraver reads black as areas to engrave and white as areas to leave untouched. If your design includes text, it's best to use black text on a white background.
Text Considerations: If your map includes text, be sure it's either converted to outlines (in programs like Illustrator) or flattened in raster files. Sometimes, text can be tricky, like white text which won't engrave. Don't worry—if there are issues with the text, I can adjust it easily to make sure it looks perfect!
Detail Level: Intricate details are what make fantasy maps pop! Just keep in mind that very small or fine lines might not engrave as clearly, so adjusting line thickness slightly can help ensure the design comes out looking sharp.
I’m Here to Help! If your file needs minor tweaks—like adjusting text or optimizing the layout for engraving—I’m happy to take care of that for you. I want your map to turn out exactly how you imagine, so feel free to reach out if you’re unsure about anything!
